Magdaliz and Her Latin Ensemble Crisol (Spanish for “melting pot”) is a Philadelphia-based group dedicated to the interpretation of folk, traditional, and popular music from across Latin America and the Caribbean, including Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, and beyond. Led by Puerto Rican vocalist and guitarist Magdaliz Roura, the ensemble blends boleros, mariachi, son, salsa, cumbia, merengue, bossa nova, cha-cha-cha, and more into vibrant, storytelling performances that turn any event into a living celebration of Latin culture. Active since 1997, Crisol has appeared at concerts, festivals, weddings, cultural celebrations, and educational programs throughout the Philadelphia region, offering lineups that range from intimate solo and trio settings to a full Latin band, always committed to musical excellence, authenticity, and a warm connection with audiences of all ages.
